We would like an end of season whole team photo please – so will aim to get this the next time all players are available.

We had enough interest to put in a League application for next season, where we would be U 17’s. Initially players have indicated an interest. If you change your mind, please keep us informed – No pressure!
Our annual health check has been completed and our Standard has been awarded again for the next season.
A date for your diary – We have booked Crompton Cricket Club on Saturday 29th June.  For those new players, Presentation night is a celebration of the season, both on and off the pitch – lots of photos from the year, and some entertainment too!
Family and friends are welcome – we will need to take definite numbers soon for catering purposes before we break for the summer. There will be no charge for Players and their immediate family, but any additional guests will cost £3 per head.

Very shortly we will be asking Players to vote for thePlayers’ Player Award for this season. Think carefully who you think deserves this – remember it is not a popularity vote.

We are no longer presenting the Most Improved Award this year. Instead, this will be asking regularspectators to vote for their Player of the Year.

We are hoping to arrange friendlies, and a possible tournament over the summer. It you are interested in taking part, it would be helpful if you could let us know when you will be away.
Thanks as always for your continued support

October 2012 Newsletter
Departures and Arrivals

Our first Newsletter of the season sees a few departures and additions to the club. Josh Croll, Josh Dale and Jack Johnson have left the club – we wish them well and hope they keep playing and enjoying their football.

We signed Colban Collier-Hyde over the summer, then Josh Alker, George Needham and Harry Wright in the last few weeks. We have had a number of prospective players training on a Tuesday night which has kept the lads on their toes! We may still sign another player which will bring the squad up to 16. Welcome to the new players, we hope you enjoy playing for Villa!

With new additions to the squad, can I just remind everyone about communication.

Sunday matches are confirmed by Dave Naylor at the start of the week and the details will be given out at Tuesday Training. Our website will be updated with the match details on Tuesday/Wednesday. A confirmation email will be sent out to everyone on Thursday.  This will be sent to the email addresses that you provided on the signing on documents and the sender should show as Crompton Villa ( uk) so that you can set any email filters to accept them.  If you change your email address, please let Carole Clarke know.

If anyone is unavailable for the game, please inform Heather (07976293846)or Carole (07976897759) by Friday evening. IF WE DON’T HEAR FROM YOU WE ASSUME YOU WILL AT THE MATCH ON SUNDAY

If you have any holidays booked, or any other commitments you know of in advance that means you won’t be available to play on a Sunday, please let Heather  have the dates as far in advance as possible.

All lads (and most Dads!) enjoyed the Paintballing at Delta Force at the end of last month. It was a very early Christmas present, but a successful day out!
Friday 7th December
We wanted to have a family social evening around Christmas, so have booked a RACE NIGHT at Delph Cricket Club. We have secured a really good package, which includes supper, hire of the room and the race night organised for us. The club will be treating Players and their immediate families, but we will have to charge additional tickets (friends, Grandparents) at £3 per head.

Further details will follow, along with horse details!!!

M&S Fund Raiser
Congratualtions to all the lads, parents and coaches who attended the fundraiser in Bolton. Well done for raising over £300 for the club coffers but equally well done for raising the same for the Breast Cancer charity. I beleive that our effort was the best fund raiser so far at the Bolton M&S. Great effort!

Chaddy End Tournament 2012 -  Saturday 7th July 2012

We have only entered 1 team this year:

  • The tournament will be held at Our Lady’s School, Alworth Road, Higher Blackley, Manchester, M9 0RP.
  • The tournament is an all day event and will begin at 9:00am.
  • The tournament is 6-a-side and teams are to consist of a maximum of 8 players.

Due to the Tournaments/friendlies and the fact the kits bought last summer are to last 2 seasons, we will not be collecting the Kitbags in this year.

Full kitbags should be brought to the tournament in case change of strip is required.

February 2012 Newsletter
Charter Standard
Good news: Our Charter Standard Status has been renewed again.  This is a great accomplishment and thanks go out to the coaches, committee, players and parents in helping us achieve this once again.

We have been given a £50 voucher for retaining our status and this will be used to buy a new match ball and some more training balls.

Paul Clarke has also completed his Safeguarding Children course which is a requirement for Charter Standard.  Thanks Paul for undertaking this course
Due to the adverse weather and distinct lack of games over the last couple of months, we obviously have a backlog of matches to get through – approx 12 before May.

This means that we will have to play some games in the evenings and the League schedule such games for Tuesdays and Thursdays.  We will try to arrange them for Tuesdays to replace training wherever possible.

We do know that a cup match has been scheduled for Easter weekend and would like to know players availability ASAP for this date so that, if necessary, we have time to apply for a postponement.

More fixtures have already been scheduled for us over the Easter period and include Thursday as well as Sundays so it is important that we know player availability for the following:

We are still in the U15’s “A” League Cup and face Failsworth at home in the next round.

A couple of wins in the next few games should see us move up a number of positions, leap-frogging those teams who have played more games than us.

Dates For Your Diaries
Presentation Evening will be a little later this year due to our back-log of games and the availability of the cricket club:  DATE: Saturday 23rd June 2012.

We are aware that there may be a Euro 2012 match on this date which might involve England (if we get that far!!!).  If so, we will try to make the match part of the entertainment so nobody will miss it.

Paul has volunteered to arrange a sponsored/end of season walk about for the team.  The provisional date for this would be Sunday 20 May – depending on whether the season has finished by then.  We update everyone a bit nearer the time for this.
Just a little reminder, can everyone who does not pay by standing order, please ensure their subs are up to date with Sue  - Thank you
Christmas Doo
Please make sure you respond as soon as possible to the Christmas Doo invitational email so that the Committee can sort out costings and transport.
From the 1st November training on a Tuesday night will be limited to 1 hour, between 6pm and 7pm.
September 2011 Newsletter
First things first, it’s great to officially welcome Neil Beevor as our new Coach with Paul Clarke as Assistant & Goalkeeping Coach.
The lads were put through some vigorous pre-season training by the new Coaching Team -  helped in no small way by Neil’s son Liam who definitely put them through their paces.  You could see them getting fitter week by week.  (It tired me out just watching!
We also had some testing friendlies in August to gear the squad up for the start of the new season.

New Kit & Sponsor
Our new kit and Sponsor were revealed which saw our home colours change to Blue & White hoops (or QPR as it has been referred to by the lads) with the traditional yellow and blue becoming our training/away kit.
Lewis decided to stand out from the crowd this season in bright orange.
We would like to say welcome & a BIG Thank You to George Brown & Sons who have agreed to sponsor us this season.

New Season
Well, the new season is up and running and after a great first victory, we have now seen how competitive the league has become with all the new teams.  It is looking like it will be a challenging season!
We have now made the move to Broadfield School 3G synthetic pitch which is more convenient for tea time training than the weekly trek to Curzon Ashton.  We also have the benefit of not having to share the facility during our training sessions.

Sponsored Slim
Congratulations to both Paul & Graham and their successful sponsored slim.  The monies each raised and those collected by the team totalled a massive, absolutely tremendous £636.01.  Well Done!

The matches are confirmed by Dave Naylor at the start of the week and the details will be given out at Tuesday Training.
Our new website will be updated with the match details on Tuesday/Wednesday.
A confirmation email will be sent out to everyone on Thursday.  This will be sent to the email addresses that you provided on signing on night and the sender should show as Crompton Villa ( so that you can set any email filters to accept them.  If you change your email address, please let Carole Clarke know.
If anyone is unavailable for the game, please inform Sue Croll by Friday evening (unless otherwise specified on email).
NB:  If you have any articles for the website, please pass them to Lee Johnson.

Prediction Sheets
As previously sent out by email, we proposed a fund raiser for the club by asking for your Football League predictions - who will be the winners and the bottom clubs for the 2011/12 season.

It is £1 per entry and then they will be securely locked away until Presentation Evening when the winners will be announced. Friends and family are welcome to join in and you can enter as many times as you want to.
A copy of the form is attached and all entries need to be in by the 1st week in October.
The more entries we receive, the bigger the prize fund.
We have undergone quite a few changes since the end of last season and feedback from parents will be welcomed by either the committee or the coaches.
Crompton Villa was set up for all the lads to play and enjoy football on a weekly basis.  If you have any concerns, please do not let them fester – let us know so that it does not spoil the enjoyment of the game for your son and the rest of the squad.
Jelly Bellies are us, not any more..........................
Paul has done marvellously well in losing 3 stone for his sponsored slim. Well done Paul, marvellous effort!
Graham has just about hit the 1 stone mark towards his 2 stone target. Keep going Graham you can do it!
Please could all players try to collect sponsorhsip for Paul (full amount) and Graham (based on losing 1 stone)
and return it to the club as quickly as possible.

Villa are dlighted to announce that Villa's new home kit will bear a new sponsors logo after sponsorship was agreed with local Heating Engineering specialist George Brown and Sons of Bury:
Many thanks to the following companies who have kindly made donations to the Crompton Villa cause:
£20   -  UK MAT Group
Presentation Evening 2011
We hope everybody enjoyed the presentation evening held at Crompton C.C.
Here are the presentations that were delivered on the night.

March 2011 Newsletter

Money owing to Sue for events on 7th and 21st May
Lads try to get as many sponsors as possible for Pauls weight loss - we need new kit!!

Steve Wood

As you will all be aware, due to family commitments, Woody is leaving us at the end of the season.

Could we ask that you all keep 7th May free in your diaries for a surprise day out “leaving do” for Woody.

Enquiries are being made into switching our training from Curzon to the new 3G facilities at Hathershaw which are due to open 1st April 2011.  Again, we will update everyone as soon as any decision is made.

Heather has been working very hard to attract sponsorship for the club and has approached Asda, Co-Op, Tesco Greenfield and Ikea – no luck so far!

We will need new full kits next year  - seeing as the lads keep growing!!!

- so the sponsorship is important.  If anyone has any ideas or connections with any companies who might be interested, please let us know.

Sponsored Slim

Paul and Graham’s sponsored slim is under way to raise funds for the Club.

Paul has lost 1st  9lbs from target of 3st so far – well done!.

Graham has been hampered by his knee problems.  We wish him well after his operation and hope to see him soon achieve his targets once he’s recovered.

We would ask that all the lads continue to raise sponsorship to urge them on to reach their “goal” weights.

Presentation Evening

The proposed date for this season’s Presentation Evening is Saturday 21st May  – Please keep it free.

The match against Moston last week saw the teams line up for the Pre-Match Respect Handshake.

This is something the FA and the League are now asking all teams to participate in to set a level of respect for the game at the start of each match.

Charter Standard

Great News – The Club has passed the Charter Standard Health Check and retained it’s status for a further year.

The Coaches, Committee, Players and Parents all play their part in helping us to retain this status so Congratulations to all and a big Thank You for all the time and work that people put into the club.

A Message from Jane Dale
Dear all, Myself and Josh would just like to say a very big thank you to
everyone for your kind words, support, cards and flowers following the death
of Joshs dad. Josh was absolutely overwhelmed last Sunday at the tribute you
paid to his dad, thank you so very much.

Recognition at Oldham Sports Awards
The Oldham Borough Sports Awards 2010 took place on Thursday evening and Crompton Villa JFC were nominated for the category of "Club of the Year".
The nomination came from Latics Sports Development for achieving FA Charter Standard status.
This was a highly contested category, which was eventually won by Uppermill FC. However, Villa's nomination is testament to the Club's development and achievement in such a short space of time.
